Demo Objective
Introduce guests to the convenience, quality, and great taste of Signature Select Frozen Entrées while encouraging purchase for quick lunches, easy dinners, and convenient comfort food. Throughout the demo, alternate between both entrées so guests have the opportunity to sample each product whenever possible.

DFW locations have a designated demo supply area with disposable sampling supplies and equipment available. Demo Specialists should still bring their apron, hat, tablecloth, and toaster oven unless instructed otherwise by Four Star Demos.
Pre-Demo Preparation

Review these instructions before arriving.

Verify the toaster oven is clean and operating properly.

Bring enough supplies for the full demo.

Ensure the food thermometer is calibrated and functioning.
Arrival & Store Check-In

Purchase one entrée using the Divvy card for check-in verification.
-
Report to Customer Service or the Store Manager.
-
Send your required shelf selfie to Karen & Lexi.
-
Take a photo of the product on the shelf.
-
Gather all demo supplies.
-
Proceed to the demo location.
Product Verification & Purchases
-
Purchase one entrée during check-in using the Divvy card.
-
At the end of the demo, purchase all remaining opened product using the Divvy card.
-
Upload all Divvy receipts into the Bill Spend & Expense app immediately.
-
Save to upload to demo report.
Demo Set Up
-
Set up table and tablecloth.
-
Display the allergen sign.
-
Count and record beginning inventory.
-
Take a picture of the completed demo station before washing your hands.
-
Wash hands.
-
Put on gloves before handling food.
-
Time as a Public Health (TAPH) Immediately upon removing each entrée from the freezer, record the date and time either directly on the product packaging or on the Time as a Public Health log.

Follow all United Family of Stores food safety procedures.
-
Discard any product that exceeds the approved Time as a Public Health holding time.
Cooking Procedure
-
Remove one entrée from the freezer.
-
Record the Time as a Public Health start time.
-
Heat the entrée in the toaster oven according to the package directions.
-
Verify the internal temperature reaches 165°F or higher using a food thermometer before serving.
-
Record the final internal temperature and time on the Time/Temperature Log.
-
Once the first entrée has finished heating, immediately place the second entrée into the toaster oven so both varieties are available throughout the demo.
-
Alternate heating both entrées during the event to keep fresh samples available.
-
If your toaster oven has a Keep Warm setting, it may be used after the product has reached 165°F to help maintain serving temperature.
-
Continue monitoring temperatures throughout the demo and record temperatures as required.
-
Dispose of any entrées after 1 hour from end of heating.
Food Safety Requirements
-
Reheated entrées must reach an internal temperature of 165°F before serving.
-
Hot food should be held at 140°F or above whenever it is being held for service.
-
The food temperature danger zone is 40°F–140°F.
-
Minimize the amount of time food remains within this range.
-
Record all required temperatures and times on the Time/Temperature Log.
Sampling Procedure
-
Ask guests which entrée they would like to try.
-
Offer both entrées whenever available.
-
Place a small sample into a portion cup.
-
Place the sample at the front of the table for the guest.
-
Share key selling points while the guest tastes the sample.
-
Ask which entrée they prefer.
-
Encourage guests to purchase one or both varieties from the freezer aisle.
-
Share with guests some of the other entrées available in the Signature Select line.
Clean Up & Wrap Up
-
Stop serving samples at the scheduled end time.
-
Properly discard any remaining prepared food according to store food safety procedures.
-
Clean the toaster oven after it has cooled.
-
Wash all reusable equipment in the store's three-compartment sink.
-
Count and record ending inventory.
-
Purchase all opened product using the Divvy card.
-
Upload the Divvy receipt into the Bill Spend & Expense app.
-
Save to upload to demo report.
-
Complete and submit the demo report, including all required photos
