DEMO OBJECTIVE

Introduce customers to Lady Bird Sodas, a Texas-born, better-for-you soda that delivers bold flavor, low sugar, and clean ingredients — without compromise.

 
Drive trial by highlighting:

  • Crisp, refreshing taste vs traditional sodas

 
BRAND OVERVIEW

Lady Bird Soda Co. was founded in Austin, Texas by Atlas Cheek, Daniel Barnes, and Caroline Fabacher with a mission to create a soda that doesn’t sacrifice taste for health.

Inspired by the energy of the Texas Hill Country and Lady Bird Lake, the brand reflects a lifestyle of movement, community, and mindful living. Lady Bird started as a premium mixer company and has now expanded into a full soda line across Texas retailers, including Albertsons banners.

 
PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Lady Bird Sodas are crafted to deliver “Soda Without Compromise”:

  • 30–40 calories per can

  • 4–6g of sugar

  • 2g prebiotic fiber

  • All-natural ingredients

  • Non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, kosher

  • Sweetened with a blend of natural sugars + stevia

  • Designed to deliver a balanced sweetness without the heavy sugar load of traditional soda

 

Note for demo specialists:  Some customers may have concerns about stevia — use the talking points below to guide the conversation positively.

ARRIVAL & STORE CHECK-IN
  • Check in with Store Manager or Foodie Lead (depending on retailer)

  • Let them know you are there to conduct a Lady Bird demo

  • Locate product on shelf

  • Take a selfie at shelf and send to Karen & Lexi

 
PRODUCT VERIFICATION & PURCHASE (REQUIRED)
  • Retrieve 1 of each flavor from shelf

  • Take to register & purchase using Divvy Card.

  • Take photo of receipt and text to Karen & Lexi

  • Keep receipt for demo report to upload to Bill Spend & Expense App and Demo Report.

 
DEMO SET UP
  • Immediately start chilling at least 2 cans of each flavor.

  • Set up near product location when possible.

  • Count and record opening inventory by flavor.

  • Take photo of demo table

  • Display all flavors on your table for guests to take (recommend at least 3-4 of each as space permits).

 
SAMPLING PROCEDURE
  • Greet customers and invite them to sample.

  • Ask which flavor they would like to try first.

  • Pour sample into portion cup and place in front of demo station.

  • Share key talking points while they taste.

  • Encourage sampling of multiple flavors.

  • Ask: “Which one is your favorite?”

  • Encourage guests to take directly from your table. Also share product location in store.

 

Key line to customers:

“Want to try a Texas-made soda with only 4 grams of sugar?”

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT & CONVERSION
  • “This is a healthier soda — low sugar but still full flavor”

  • “Most people are surprised how good it tastes for only 30 calories”

  • “These are great as mixers too if you like cocktails”

  • “It’s lightly sweetened with real sugar and stevia — most people are surprised how smooth it tastes.”

 

Close the sale:

SWEETENER TALKING POINTS

​

Lady Bird uses a thoughtful blend of real sugar and stevia to reduce total sugar while keeping great taste.

 

How to explain it simply:

  • “They use a small amount of real sugar plus stevia to keep the calories low but the flavor strong.”

  • “It’s not zero sugar — it’s just much lower sugar than traditional soda.”

  • “Most people say it tastes clean and not overly sweet.”

 

If someone says “I don’t like stevia”:

  • “Totally fair — a lot of people feel that way, but this one is very balanced and not overpowering.”

  • “It doesn’t have that strong aftertaste people expect — want to try a quick sip and see what you think?”

  • “They blend it with real sugar so it tastes more like a traditional soda, just lighter.”

 

Positioning tip:

Never lead with “stevia” — lead with low sugar, great taste, Texas brand.

Then address stevia only if it comes up or after they taste.

 
CLEAN UP & WRAP UP
  • Clean demo area & dispose of all trash (if required by store).

  • Return unused product to shelf & count inventory

  • Take additional product used to sample to the register & purchase using Divvy Card.

  • 5. Upload receipts to Bill Spend & Expense app.

  • Submit demo report & upload photos & receipts.
