DEMO OBJECTIVE 

Highlight The United Family Own Brands by demonstrating a cool, creamy, Mediterranean-inspired chicken salad made with Signature Select, Open Nature, and O Organics products. Drive multi-item basket purchases and inspire guests with a fresh, easy entertaining idea perfect for spring gatherings.

• Ideal for sandwiches, wraps, pitas, or served with crackers for spring entertaining.

PRE-DEMO PREPARATION 

• Review full recipe instructions prior to arrival. 

• Review The United Family of Stores demo policies. 

• Print and bring Time/Temp Log. 

• Ensure all equipment and supplies are packed and ready. 

 

PRODUCT VERIFICATION & PURCHASE (REQUIRED) 

1. Retrieve Tzatziki Cucumber Dressing. 

1. Take a selfie in-store with the products and text to Karen & Lexi. 

1. Take the product to the Front Service Desk and charge to U Card or Virtual Card. 

1. Text photo of receipt to Karen & Lexi. 

1. Save receipt for demo report upload. 

Note: All opened product must be purchased at end of demo using U Card or Virtual Card and receipt submitted with report. 

 

WHAT TO BRING FROM HOME 

All demo supplies must be brought from home except DFW store locations, which will have equipment and disposable demo supplies in the demo supply area. 

Required Equipment 

• Mixing bowl or Clam Shell from Food Service 

• Can opener (Do Not Purchase on U Card. Notify Karen or bring one from home.) 

• Measuring spoons or portion cups 

• Portion cups (2 oz) 

• Gloves 

• Napkins 

• Sample forks 

• Tablecloth 

• Allergen Sign 

• Apron (no logos) 

• Hat or hair covering (no logos) 

• Food Handler's Card 

• Smartphone (photos & reporting only) 

 

Dress Code 

• Long pants or jeans (no holes) 

• Collared shirt or professional top 

• Closed-toe shoes 

• No hoodies, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts 

 

ARRIVAL & STORE CHECK-IN 

• Check in with Store Manager or Manager on Duty. 

• Inform them you are sampling a United Own Brands recipe (Tzatziki Chicken Salad). 

• Confirm demo location. 

• Locate ingredients in-store (canned chicken, dressings, produce, crackers). 

 

DEMO SETUP 

• Cover table fully with tablecloth. 

• Display ONLY shelf-stable items on table (crackers, canned chicken before opening). 

• Do NOT display refrigerated items on table. 

• Once refrigerated items are opened for use, open packaging neatly and display empty packaging on table. 

• Display Allergen Sign. 

• Organize cups, napkins, forks and trash neatly. 

• Take photo of completed demo setup with you behind the table. 

• Wash hands thoroughly. 

• Put on gloves. 

Opening Inventory Count: Count and record opening inventory of featured items as required by program. 

 

ICE REQUIREMENTS 

If a product must remain cold, it must be placed on bagged ice per The United Family Food Safety Director. 

You may obtain bagged ice by: 

• Asking the Market Department 

• Filling produce bags from the store ice machine 

• Purchasing a bag of ice using the U Card 

Place opened refrigerated product on bagged ice. 

 

MIXING & PREP INSTRUCTIONS – COLD PREP METHOD 

1. Open and drain 3 cans of Signature Select Chicken Breast. 

1. Add chicken to mixing bowl and break apart gently with a fork. 

1. Add ½ cup or 2 portion cups of Open Nature Cucumber Tzatziki Dressing  

1. Add a handful or 1 ½ portion cups of O Organics Shredded Carrots. 

1. Stir until evenly combined. 

 

SAMPLING PROCEDURE 

• Spoon small portions of chicken salad into 2 oz portion cups. 

• Serve each sample with 1–2 Signature Select Classic Crackers. 

• Place portion cups at the front of the demo station for guests to pick up. 

• Prepare fresh small batches as needed.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS 

• Submit demo report per Four Star procedures. 

• Submit opening and closing inventory counts (if required for this program). 

• Submit demo setup and action photos. 

• Upload receipts (product verification and any additional opened product).
