DEMO OBJECTIVE

​

Highlight The United Family Own Brands by demonstrating how to create a simple, crowd-pleasing spring appetizer using Signature Select, Lucerne, and Open Nature products. Drive multi-item basket purchases and inspire guests with an easy entertaining idea.

PRE-DEMO PREPARATION

​

· Review full recipe instructions prior to arrival.

· Review The United Family of Stores demo policies.

· Print and bring Time/Temp Log.

· Ensure all equipment and supplies are packed and ready.

 

PRODUCT VERIFICATION & PURCHASE (REQUIRED)

​

Retrieve 1 Signature Select Worcestershire Sauce from shelf (UPC: 00021130513611).

Take a selfie in-store with the Worcestershire Sauce and text to Karen & Lexi.

Take the product to the Front Service Desk and charge to U Card.

Text photo of receipt to Karen & Lexi.

Save receipt for demo report upload.

Note: All opened product must be purchased at end of demo using U Card and receipt submitted with report.

 

WHAT TO BRING FROM HOME

​

All demo supplies must be brought from home except DFW store locations, which will have equipment & disposable demo supplies in the demo supply area. If you do not have measuring cups, measurements will be provided in portion cups as well.

​

Required Equipment:

​

· Mixing bowl

· Cutting board

· Sharp knife

· Measuring cups/spoons

· Stirring spoon

· Portion cups (2 oz)

· Gloves

· Napkins

· Sample forks

· Tablecloth

· Allergen Sign

· Apron (no logos)

· Hat or hair covering (no logos)

· Name badge

· Food Handler’s Card

· Smartphone (photos & reporting only)

 

Dress Code:

​

· Long pants or jeans (no holes)

· Collared shirt or professional top

· Closed-toe shoes

· No hoodies, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts

 

ARRIVAL & STORE CHECK-IN

​

· Check in with Store Manager or Manager on Duty.

· Inform them you are sampling a United Own Brands recipe (Dill Pickle Dip).

· Confirm demo location and nearest power outlet.

· Locate ingredients in-store (dairy, condiments, chips).

 

DEMO SETUP

​

· Cover table fully with tablecloth.

· Display ONLY shelf-stable items on table: dill pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, pita chips.

· Do NOT display refrigerated items on table.

· Once refrigerated items are opened for use, open packaging neatly and display empty packaging on table.

· Display Allergen Sign.

· Organize cups, napkins, forks, thermometer, and trash neatly.

· Take photo of completed demo setup with you behind the table.

· Wash hands thoroughly.

· Put on gloves.

 

Opening Inventory Count:

 

Count and record opening inventory of featured items as required by program.

 

ICE REQUIREMENTS

 

The United Family of Stores Food Safety Director requires that if a product needs to be on ice, it must be bagged. You may obtain bagged ice by: – Asking the Market Department – Filling produce bags from the store ice machine – Purchasing a bag of ice using the U Card Place opened product on bagged ice.

 

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS – COLD PREP METHOD

 

Add 1 cup Lucerne sour cream to mixing bowl.

Add one container of Lucerne whipped cream cheese spread.

Add ½ cup Signature Select dill pickle relish.

Add 1–2 teaspoons Signature Select Worcestershire sauce.

Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Keep dip chilled on ice when not actively portioning.

 

SAMPLING PROCEDURE

 

· Portion dip into 2 oz cups.

· Add a few Open Nature pita chips to each cup.

· Insert fork into the portion cup.

· Place portion cups at the front of the demo station for guests to pick up.

· Prepare fresh small batches as needed and keep dip cold.

 

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

 

Opening Line: "Hi! Would you like to try our United Own Brands Dill Pickle Dip — a cool and tangy spring appetizer?"

CLEANUP & WRAP-UP

 

· Dispose of trash properly.

· Clean and sanitize demo area and equipment.

 

Closing Inventory Count:

 

Count and record ending inventory of featured items as required by program.

 

Purchase Requirement:

 

Purchase any opened product at end of demo using U Card.

Save receipt for upload.

 

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

 

· Submit demo report per Four Star procedures.

· Submit opening and closing inventory counts (if required for this program).

· Submit completed Time/Temp Log.

· Submit demo setup and action photos.

· Upload receipts (product verification and any additional opened product purchased).
