DEMO OBJECTIVE
Highlight The United Family Own Brands by demonstrating how to create a simple, crowd-pleasing Valentine’s appetizer using Signature Select and Lucerne products. Drive multi-item basket purchases and inspire guests with an easy entertaining idea.

PRODUCT VERIFICATION & PURCHASE (REQUIRED)

Retrieve 1 Signature SELECT Mayonnaise from shelf (UPC: 00021130477326).
-
Take a selfie in-store with the mayonnaise and text to Karen & Lexi.

Take the product to the Front Service Desk and charge to U Card.

Text photo of receipt to Karen & Lexi.

Save receipt for demo report upload.
Note: All opened product must be purchased at end of demo using U Card and receipt submitted with report.
WHAT TO BRING FROM HOME
All demo supplies must be brought from home except DFW store locations, which will have equipment & disposable demo supplies in the demo supply area.
If you do not have measuring cups, measurements will be provided in portion cups as well.

ARRIVAL & STORE CHECK-IN

Check in with Store Manager or Manager on Duty.

Inform them you are sampling a United Own Brands recipe (Spinach & Artichoke Dip).

Confirm demo location and nearest power outlet.
-
Locate ingredients in-store (shelf, freezer, dairy, bakery).
DEMO SETUP
-
Cover table fully with tablecloth.
-
Display ONLY shelf-stable items on table: artichoke hearts, mayonnaise, and baguette.
-
Do NOT display refrigerated or frozen items on table.
-
Once refrigerated/frozen items are opened for use, open packaging neatly and display empty packaging on table.
-
Display Allergen Sign.
-
Organize cups, napkins, forks, thermometer, and trash neatly.

Plug in electric skillet using extension cord.
-
Take photo of completed demo setup with you behind the table.
-
Wash hands thoroughly.
-
Put on gloves.
Opening Inventory Count: Count and record opening inventory of featured items as required by program.
Ice Requirements
The United Family of Stores Food Safety Director requires that if a product needs to be on ice, it must be bagged.
You may obtain bagged ice by: - Asking the Market Department - Filling produce bags from the store ice machine - Purchasing a bag of ice using the U Card
Place opened product on bagged ice.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS — SKILLET METHOD

Set skillet to medium heat (approximately 350°F).
-
While skillet heats, drain artichoke hearts. Use a fork to remove artichokes and place on cutting board.

Rough chop artichokes into small bite-sized pieces (think medium confetti).
-
Once skillet is warm, add chopped artichokes to skillet.
-
Fill measuring cup halfway with artichoke juice (½ cup) and add to skillet.
-
Add entire bag of frozen chopped spinach to skillet.
-
Add one 8 oz container of Lucerne cream cheese with chive & onion.
-
Stir mixture to allow cream cheese to begin melting.
-
Measure and add 1 cup Signature SELECT mayonnaise (1 cup = four 2 oz portion cups).
-
Stir until all ingredients are warmed and well incorporated.

Add 1 bag of Lucerne finely shredded Parmesan Romano cheese.
-
Stir. Reduce heat to low and keep warm (cover with lid if needed).
FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENT

Hot dip must reach an internal temperature of 165°F before serving.

Verify temperature using a food thermometer.
-
Record temperatures on the Time/Temp Log (log each batch).
-
Do NOT serve underheated product.
SAMPLING PROCEDURE
-
Slice baguette into small bite-sized pieces.
-
Spoon warm dip into portion cups.
-
Place baguette piece in the cup or serve alongside in the cup.
-
Insert fork into the portion cup.
-
Place portion cups at the front of the demo station for guests to pick up.
-
Prepare fresh small batches as needed and keep dip hot.
