DFW Store Locations:

Equipment and disposable supplies are available in the designated demo supply area. Demo Specialists should still bring their apron, hat, tablecloth, ice bucket, allergen sign and Food Handler's Card from home.

Store Arrival & Check-In

Check in with Store Management or the Demo Coordinator.
Confirm the demo location near the A&W case stack unless the Store Director assigns another location.
Locate the demo kit. Lexi will confirm whether it was shipped directly to you or to the store.
If it is at the store, ask the specific store contact Lexi provides for the kit.
Purchase one featured A&W beverages with the Divvy card to verify the correct product.
Upload the receipt to the Bill Spend & Expense app and save it to upload to the demo report.
Take a selfie in-store at the product shelf and text it to Karen & Lexi (do not upload to the report).
Take a picture of the shelf & display to upload to the demo report.
If not already chilled, immediately place at least two cans of each flavor being sampled in the store freezer so they can chill while you set up the demo station.
Gather all demo supplies.
Ask the Market Department for bagged ice.
If bagged ice is not available, place loose ice in produce bags or purchase a bag of ice with the Divvy card.

Demo Set Up

Set up the demo table near the A&W case stack, unless directed otherwise, and cover it with the tablecloth.
Count and record opening inventory separately for A&W Root Beer Float, A&W Root Beer Float Zero Sugar and every approved substitute flavor that will be sampled.
Display the allergen sign.
Set up the approved campaign materials from the demo kit.
Use the campaign photo as a setup and placement reference only.
Arrange available product attractively on the table when inventory and store direction allow.
Fill the ice bucket with bagged ice.
Transfer the chilled cans from the freezer to the ice bucket and keep all sampling product on ice throughout the demo.
Before washing your hands or opening any product, take a picture of the completed demo station for the demo report.
Wash your hands in a designated handwash sink.
Open one can of each available flavor so guests may compare Original and Zero Sugar throughout the demo.
Pour fresh 1 oz samples as needed and place samples toward the front of the table.

Sampling Procedure

Welcome each guest and introduce A&W Root Beer Float as a limited-time ready-to-drink soda.
Ask whether they would like to try Original or Zero Sugar first.
Pour a fresh 1 oz sample while sharing the flavor profile and key selling points.
Place the sample at the front of the table for the guest to pick up.
Explain that the beverage offers root beer float flavor without a spoon, ice cream or mess.
Do not make or sample actual root beer floats.
Ask for feedback and offer the other flavor.
Tell the guest about the current digital coupon in the United or Market Street app: Save $4.00 when purchasing one 12-pack of A&W or 7UP and one 48 oz Breyers Ice Cream. The coupon expires August 18, 2026.
Direct guests to the product display or shelf and encourage purchase.

Clean Up, Reporting & Wrap Up

Count and record closing inventory separately for A&W Root Beer Float, A&W Root Beer Float Zero Sugar and every approved substitute flavor sampled.
Return unopened product to the shelf and dispose of opened sample product appropriately.
Purchase any product opened for sampling that was not purchased at the beginning of the demo with the Divvy card.
Upload all receipts to the Bill Spend & Expense app and save them to upload to the demo report.
Have Store Management sign the required demo paperwork, if applicable.
Complete the demo report with opening and closing inventory, sales by flavor, number of guests sampled, guest feedback, coupon response, substitutions, comments and all required fields.
Upload the shelf photo, completed demo-station photo and all required receipts to the demo report.
Do not upload the in-store selfie.
Submit the completed demo report before leaving the store.
